The signing of this MoU kicks off the feasibility studies, proposal planning, and technical documentation required to launch the clean energy project.
Prime Minister Drew emphasized the MoU’s significance, thanking the signing Parties for their commitment to the Federation and faith in the Government in facilitating such a historic investment in the country. Dr. Drew stated that St. Kitts and Nevis will be the world’s first green country, inspiring others. We may be small in size, but we have tremendous ambitions. As Prime Minister, I will lead the cause and own the process.”
Karim Amin, an Executive Board Member of Siemens Energy, said, “The Prime Minister is a visionary; he understands the significance of the mission and the opportunities for the region.” Siemens will bring the most innovative technology and is committed to a robust and long-term partnership.”
During the ceremony, Dr. Tajeddine Seif, Chairman of the K&K Group, reiterated his company’s commitment to excellence, partnership, and urgency in developing the islands’ geothermal resources. Dr Seif said, “Just a few days ago, right here in Dubai, we experienced epic flooding in a desert and widespread destruction with the heaviest rainfall seen in the UAE in 75 years.” If that doesn’t motivate the world to act, nothing will.
