American Airlines adds two new Caribbean flights
With the increased competition in the market, American Airlines continues to expand its Miami hub. The carrier has now announced two new Caribbean routes to Anguilla and Dominica.
“We have been strategically growing our route network to give customers more choices to new destinations, better meeting the demand for travel to Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America,” said Juan Carlos Liscano, Vice President of MIA Hub Operations.
Starting December 8, 2021, the airlines will launch 2x weekly flights between Miami (MIA) and Dominica (DOM). The 1,415-mile flight will operate with the following schedule on Wednesdays and Saturdays:
- AA3579 Miami to Dominica departing 11:00 AM arriving 3:21PM
- AA3579 Dominica to Miami departing 4:24 PM arriving 6:55 PM
And on December 11, 2021, AA will launch 2x weekly flights between Miami (MIA) and Anguilla (AXA). The 1,221-mile flight will operate with the following schedule on Wednesdays and Saturdays:
- AA3780 Miami to Anguilla departing 10:50 AM arriving 2:49 PM
- AA3780 Anguilla to Miami departing 3:40 PM arriving 5:53 PM
Both routes will be operated by American Eagle partner Envoy Air aboard a 76-seat Embraer 175, outfitted with 12 first-class recliners, 20 extra-legroom coach seats and 44 standard economy ones.
With the new additions, American Airlines will serve 35 destinations in the Caribbean – the most of any U.S. carrier.
