CAIPA at the 2023 World Investment Forum
Release – The Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA) is making its presence felt at the UNCTAD World Investment Forum Abu Dhabi this week!
The World Investment Forum (WIF) is presented each year by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. It welcomes thought leaders from around the globe to discuss investment opportunities worldwide.
CAIPA is proud and excited to have such a strong presence, representing the wealth of opportunities in the Caribbean.
Over 20 CAIPA members are in Dubai to represent their respective countries and engage with global investors, highlighting the tremendous potential of the Caribbean for international business.
Several CAIPA members will speak on various panels, share their expertise, and discuss key investment trends in the Caribbean.
CAIPA President and CEO of the Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC) kicked things off, speaking on Day 1 of the conference on the panel “Promoting Investing in the Blue Economy”.
He highlighted the importance of the Caribbean developing a regional blue economy strategy and enlisting support from development agencies to establish an attractive business environment for investors.
CAIPA will have a booth at the event to engage with attendees regarding the investment opportunities in the Caribbean region and to educate them on how CAIPA can support business endeavours.
In addition, CAIPA members Prodominicana, CINEX (Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency) and Invest Barbados have booths promoting opportunities for collaboration within their respective regions.
About CAIPA
The CAIPA Secretariat was launched on the 20th day of November 2007 in Kingston, Jamaica, with funding support from the European Union under a PROINVEST Programme. The Association was established with seven (7) member countries as an umbrella Association of CARIFORUM Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), to enable collaboration among Caribbean IPAs.
CAIPA’s membership comprises twenty-three (23) IPAs within the region, including representation from the Dutch and British Overseas Countries and Territories. The member countries include Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
