Dominica’s Housing Developments Progress in Woodford Hill, Eggleston, and Vieille Case

Dominica continues to make significant strides in its housing sector, with innovative projects underway in Woodford Hill, Eggleston, and Vieille Case. These developments are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide its citizens with safe, comfortable, and resilient homes.

An exciting housing initiative is transforming the picturesque area of Small Farm, Woodford Hill. Spanning 6,680 square meters, the Woodford Hill Housing Development involves the construction of eight bungalows and two duplex buildings.

Meanwhile, the Eggleston Housing Project, nestled on a 12,151-square-meter plot, has four duplex buildings and is shaping to be a landmark residential area. This initiative also aims to create a more sustainable and self-sufficient community, with plans for green spaces and renewable energy installations.

The housing development in Vieille Case is particularly noteworthy for its community-driven approach. Spanning 8,344 square meters, the project in Ambas involves the construction of ten standalone houses and two duplex buildings.

Local contractors are pivotal in bringing the vision to life, creating not just homes but also opportunities for the community.

All housing units in each development include a combined living and kitchen area perfect for gatherings, comfortable bedrooms, well-appointed bathrooms, a laundry area, and a welcoming verandah for relaxing evenings. All are built with reinforced concrete and blockwork, ensuring the homes can withstand hurricanes and earthquakes.

These three projects, fully funded by the Citizenship by Investment Programme and overseen by MMC Development Ltd., represent more than just housing developments—they are communities in the making aimed at contributing to Dominica’s efforts to “build back better, one home at a time.
