Grenadian meteorologist joins WMO Expert Team

Cécil Mitchell, a certified meteorologist at the Grenada Airports Authority (GAA) Department of Meteorology, was recently appointed as a member of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Expert Team for Services for Aviation, Regional Association IV, which includes North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. 

Mitchell has spent the last 23 years working in the field of meteorology. In 2019, she received a Master of Science in Aviation Management with Distinction from the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine after completing her studies at the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology in Barbados.

In the Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) Journal, Volume 29, Issue 4, July/August 2022,e2086, Mitchell recently published the findings from her thesis, An Analysis of Barriers to the Implementation of an ISO Certified Quality Management System for National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in the Anglophone Caribbean.
