COVID-19 in the Caribbean

The Caribbean region has not been spared from the continuous onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To date, about 95% of the countries in the region had reported positive cases of COVID-19 amidst strict lock down measurements being imposed by each government.

Meanwhile, globally, there have been 2,402,250 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 163,097 deathsreported to WHO.

Data of confirmed Caribbean COVID-19 cases as of today, April 21: 

  • Dominican Republic – 5044 cases, 245 deaths, 463 recovered 
  • Puerto Rico – 1298 cases, 64 deaths 
  • Cuba – 1087 cases, 36 deaths, 285 recovered 
  • Jamaica – 223 cases, 6 deaths, 27 recovered  
  • Martinique -163 cases, 14 deaths, 73 recovered 
  • Guadeloupe -148 cases, 8 deaths, 73 recovered 
  • Trinidad and Tobago – 114 cases, 8 deaths, 26 recovered 
  • French Guiana – 97 cases, 1 death, 76 recovered  
  • Aruba – 97 cases, 2 deaths, 51 recovered  
  • Bermuda – 86 cases, 5 deaths, 37 recovered  
  • Barbados – 75 cases, 5 deaths, 23 recovered 
  • Sint Maarten – 67 cases, 10 deaths, 12 recovered  
  • Guyana – 66 cases, 7 deaths, 9 recovered  
  • Cayman Islands – 66 cases, 1 death, 7 recovered  
  • Bahamas – 64 cases, 9 deaths, 11 recovered  
  • Haiti – 57 cases, 3 deaths  
  • US Virgin Islands – 53 cases, 3 deaths, 48 recovered 
  • Saint Martin – 37 cases, 2 deaths, 19 recovered  
  • Antigua and Barbuda – 23 cases, 3 deaths, 7 recovered 
  • Belize – 18 cases, 2 deaths, 2 recovered  
  • Dominica – 16 cases, 9 recovered  
  • Saint Lucia – 15 cases, 13 recovered 
  • Saint Kitts and Nevis – 15 cases  
  • Curacao -14 cases, 1 death, 11 recovered  
  • Grenada -14 cases, 6 recovered   
  • St Vincent and the Grenadines – 12 cases, 2 recovered

  • Turks and Caicos – 11 cases, 1 death
