Scotts Head Housing Development hand over set in Q4
Another sustainable, climate-resilient residential initiative in the “nature island” of Dominica is set to welcome its new homeowners — the Scotts Head Housing Development.
The Citizenship by Investment Programme provided the complete funding for the development of this project, in which local contractors constructed thirteen (13) three-bedroom standalone homes and two (2) buildings consisting of four (4) one-bedroom units.
Minister of Housing Melissa Poponne Skerrit and Member of Parliament for the Soufriere Constituency Denise Charles and Cal Murad, Project Director of MMC Development Ltd, visited the site on Friday for inspection.
Melissa Poponne Skerrit referred to the site as the stunning project of the island nation. “This site is one of the most beautiful housing developments on the island due to its breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean”, I am very happy for the imminent completion of the remarkable housing initiative in Scott’s Head”, she added.
The Minister of Housing told the media that the development is the first of ten planned sites to welcome deserving families soon.
“We are providing new homes just in time after Hurricane Beryl’s impact on the island’s southern tip. The Ministry of Housing is working diligently to bring this vision to life!”
The Scotts Head Housing Development is a substantial project covering 12,207 square meters of land. Each bungalow unit has a living and kitchen area, three comfortable bedrooms, two contemporary bathrooms, a designated laundry area and a porch. Meanwhile, the single-bedroom units feature a bedroom, a bathroom with a laundry area, a cosy living and kitchen area, and a shared veranda.
Parliamentary Representative Denise Charles has also expressed her enthusiasm for the development.
“The people of Scotts Head are elated and indeed grateful for this… I look forward to receiving the keys for these beautiful homes to hand over to the families to greatly improve their stand of living and net worth.”
To date, 95% of the work has been completed. The work’s concluding touches include interior finishes, MEP fixtures, and landscaping.
The Scott’s Head Housing Development is part of the new housing initiative the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica introduced in 2022.
