It is a dream come true for Junior Sealy after being chosen as the Caribbean Fashion Director for Fashion Week Brooklyn 2020.

Sharing the exciting new in his Instagram account, the Barbadian-born stylist and designer hopes to forge new paths for Caribbean designers.

Sealy thanked Ricky Davy, founder of the BK Style Foundation and creator of the bi-annual fashion show.

Davy, is from the Caribbean as well, hailing from the twin-island republic, Trinidad and Tobago.

Speaking to Loop Lifestyle, Sealy said he was overwhelmed with joy when he was informed of the decision, adding that anyone else could have been chosen.

The Barbadian stylist and designer will be responsible for showcasing the works of new and upcoming Caribbean designers to the international market.

“This is an opportunity for me to put on the younger generation who wouldn’t have had a platform is really something I am excited about… I feel this platform can allow a lot of designers to grow and improve themselves by knowing that they have a place to be seen now,” Sealy said.

Sealy said he also wants to seize the opportunity to mentor young local designers to create a brand that is more international.

Themed “Empowering Brooklyn Style“, Fashion Week BK 2020 will hold a virtual show that is expected to take place in mid-September. The first season was rescheduled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
