Visa-free travel MOU between Dominica and Rwanda signed
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the African states of Rwanda and Dominica, establishing visa-free travel agreements.
The initiative is anticipated to facilitate travel and fortify bilateral relationships while also promoting opportunities for cultural exchanges, business, and tourism.
Rwandan citizens will now be permitted to access Dominica without obtaining a visa, and Dominican citizens who wish to travel to Rwanda will be permitted to do the same.
The accord was executed in New York during the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Tuesday, September 24.
Dr. Vince Henderson, Dominica’s Foreign Affairs Minister, signed on behalf of the country, while Olivier Nduhunggirehe, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, signed on behalf of his country.
Located in east-central Africa, Rwanda is a landlocked nation frequently referred to as le pays des mille collines (French for “land of a thousand hills”).
Its estimated population was just over 13 million individuals in 2024.
Kinyarwanda is the official language of the country and is spoken by nearly all its inhabitants. It is one of the official languages of the country, in addition to Swahili, English, and French.
