Pope Francis calls for end to violence in Israel and Gaza

Pope Francis issued an appeal for a halt to violence and attacks in Israel and Gaza, stating that terrorism and war would not solve any issues and would only cause more misery and deaths among innocent people.

In his weekly address to the faithful in St. Peter’s Square, the pope stated, “I follow with apprehension and sorrow what is happening in Israel.” “I pray for everyone going through hours of terror and suffering, and I show my solidarity with the victims’ families.”

At least 250 Israelis were slain in a multipronged attack on Israeli cities on Saturday by Palestinian militants; more than 300 Palestinians were killed in Israel’s retaliatory airstrikes.

“Please put an end to the attacks and the weapons, as it is important to realize that terrorism and conflict only result in the agony and deaths of countless innocent people. Every conflict is ultimately a defeat. The pope prayed, “Let us pray for peace in Israel and Palestine.”
